Truly, Madly, Deeply: The Writer's Workshop
Fall 2011 Session
Been dying to write a novel, memoir, or a creative non-fiction book but lacked the support of likeminded writers?
After a four-year hiatus, Truly, Madly, Deeply: The Writer's Workshop is back!
It is a focused 8 week workshop for aspiring writers - and writers who need a good kick in the butt - working on a major project. It can be a column series, a collection of short stories, personal essays, novel, or a creative non-fiction book. The group meets once a week to workshop ideas and writing among like-minded peers who are truly, madly, deeply committed to developing their craft. Strengthen your writing skills, develop your writing voice, revel in the joy of making art. Perhaps most importantly, find out if you have both the passion and the commitment to see your project from start to finish.
How it works: Classes will start with an overview of storytelling building blocks: Story structure, Narrative arc, Setting scenes, Diaglogue/Quotes, and Transitions. We'll use a variety of techniques pulled from radio, film and print to figure out what best feeds your muse. This will be followed by workshopping of your writing. Guest speakers will include two of the following: publisher, author/s, literary agent.
Note: Truly, Madly, Deeply will be limited to a maximum of 12 participants.
